In this week's TV Guide MegaBuzz column, Mickey O'Connor briefly discusses the latest news on Body's Politic's status with the CW.
"Is there a shot for the CW to pick up Body Politic as a midseason replacement? From the sneak peeks I've seen, it looks like it's got lots of promise, and I really need a weekly Jason Dohring fix! — Gina
MICKEY: I'm with you, Gina! Body reminds me of the heady mid-'90s, when I actually called Washington, D.C., home (in large part because of the movie St. Elmo's Fire). My CW mole tells me that the Beltway drama is still in the running for a midseason slot, but that it's up against the Gossip Girl spin-off, which has a few high-ranking fans in the building."
If you're looking for pictures of Jason from the Breakout Before Moonlight convention, Stef has graciously linked some of her photos in her journal. She has shots of Jason along with his former co-stars Jordan Belfi, Francis Capra, and the rest of the convention's VIPs.
The NY Times has new article discussing D.C.-based tv and the lack thereof this season. Body Politic Creator Peter Horton has some interesting comments about the show:
"'Body Politic,' for instance, originated as a show for ABC about three years ago. At that time it was a more cynical look at the corridors of power, and ABC passed on the project. Mr. Horton said CW approached him a few days after Mr. Obama’s inauguration and asked him to rework the drama to “reflect the times.” In the new script the characters were more hopeful about making a difference. But CW had only a few holes in its schedule, and it favored a 'Melrose Place' remake and shows about vampires and modeling instead."

While it doesn't seem like CW is planning on picking up Body Politic, Korbi at Zap2it.com has seen the pilot and thinks the network should pick it up for midseason.
"Having not only read the script now, but having stumbled upon the pilot presentation as well, I have to say, The CW best be thinking long and hard about letting 'Body Politic' go. Network president Dawn Ostroff did tell reporters last week that there's still a midseason slot open for one more scripted drama and I'm going on record now saying, 'Body Politic' should be it."
Despite strong play, Jason's team did not qualify for Round 4 of the tournament [results]. However, Jason fan Ronda attended the tournament and posted some photos of him in action at her blog. Thanks, Ronda!
